What Is Douce France About?
Set in 1957 in the fictional French village of Balloche-les-Olivettes, Douce France invites audiences into a picturesque world where life revolves around a café, the church, and a not-so-simple town hall. But everything changes when Augustin, the son of café owners, falls in love with Juliette, the daughter of the mayor.
Just as their romance begins to bloom, a long-buried secret is revealed: the mayor might just be Augustin’s father! What follows is a hilarious mix of vaudeville, rustic farce, and chaotic time travel. The play features a diverse ensemble cast portraying villagers of all ages, making it both lively and heartwarming.
